What breeding power means
Each eligible Pal species has a numerical breeding value. For a standard pairing, the game uses both parent values to find the closest eligible child. Community tools commonly describe this number as Breeding Power, breeding rank, or CombiRank.
A lower numerical rank does not automatically mean that a Pal is weaker in combat or worse at base work. The value belongs to the breeding lookup system and should be read in that context.
Why the same pair is predictable
An ordinary species result is based on the two species values, so the same pair points to the same child in the current table. Parent order is symmetrical: A plus B resolves like B plus A.
The child species can be predictable while the individual egg still varies. Passive skills, IVs and other inherited properties are separate rolls and are not currently calculated by PalBreed Lab.
When CombiRank does not apply
A special breeding recipe can force a named child even when the normal midpoint would indicate a different species. Restricted Pals can also have a deliberately limited route. PalBreed Lab checks these special rules before presenting the result.
Common questions
Is breeding rank the same as Pal strength?
No. It is a lookup value used by the breeding system, not a direct combat or work-suitability score.
Does a closer parent rank guarantee better passives?
No. The species calculation and passive-skill inheritance are different systems.
